Nostalgia and Yearning
No stopping
This juggernaut of mindless development
Displacing green areas, creating unbearable heat around and more and more is the cry and craving
As we are sucked into this gargantuan hunger
Innovations that ridicule nature seem to surpass
I am missing those undulating hills covered with greens that look mowed from distance
I miss the river that flowed along the bungalow like life in spate
Huge trees and so much at command
All whisked away by time
If I was not a part of all those memories and endeavours, why did I experience that?
Now like bovine ruminating memories, being a witness to the mirthless development
I want to return to those days gone by
Even then the spirit was restless, with parents away, wife away, caring duty and children with the help of wife's granny
Was never at peace
Still I miss those days on the banks of Narmada and the hills, forests and Kanha tiger's roar
The beauties of Begacheck, my adoration for Begas
Nature's wonders that soothed the soul
All now lost in the relentless march of progress.
