Blast from past
A regu pandlu seller's familiar shout would echo through the streets. I'd send our maid to buy some, and she'd return with a smile. This rustic fruit has been my childhood favorite.
As kids, friends and I would venture into the fields, discovering regu pandlu in abundance. We'd pick, pluck, and relish the sweet, tangy taste of fresh, juicy fruit.
Years passed, and the seller would occasionally appear with small-sized regu pandlu, just the way I liked them. But then, he vanished for three years.
Recently, he returned and told our new maid, "Sir used to love small regu pandlu, so I brought some." He waited to meet me, reconnecting and reminiscing about my love for this fruit. His thoughtful gesture touched my heart.
Reflecting on that moment, I wish I had shown more warmth and appreciation to the physically challenged regu pandlu seller. Could I have offered him a seat, a glass of water, or a kind word? Perhaps a small gesture of gratitude would have made his day brighter.
"I'll make sure to show my appreciation and warmth to him the next time he comes. A small gesture of kindness can go a long way in making someone's day brighter.
Heart -touching.One would imagine oneself in your place but the warmth in your intended gesture, even though could not be translated into action would be difficult to imagine every person.
ReplyDeleteI am touched with the fact that the fruit-seller has decided to present you with some small regupallu, inspite of his long absence. There will be no expectations from his side about a possible help from but a simple liking of you as you liked his tiny fruits.
The incident brings out the purity of two souls here. One is yours...purity personified by your intent to do something for him.
The second one is fruit- seller's
Thanks for the heart- rending account of a real- life incident.
