When pride falls ..10th July 2024

An evening, barely after sunset's hue

Pitter-patter raindrops, a melancholic tune anew

In the old mansion, stories whisper through

Relationships rattle, cracks begin to show

Why do they form, how can they mend?

No one's ready to repair, no friend to lend

In this grand commotion, who do I thank?

What will bring you down to your knees?

The ego, insurmountable, until it sees

Its own fragility, its own demise

And humbles itself, with a sorrowful sigh
