 Far away shores

Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram, hope, enchantment, and joy reside,

While Asatya, Adharma, Amrita, darkness, and strife abide,

Logic falters, as some choose the wrong path to tread,

Embracing Papam, Tamas, Moha, in their hearts and heads.

Their egos, a heavy burden, disconnected from the cosmic rhyme,

A discordant note, that echoes through time,

In this turbulent sea, I struggle to stay afloat,

A delicate balance, between ideals and life's harsh coat.

The mind, a restless wanderer, pulled by conflicting desires,

A constant battle, to keep the heart and soul on fire,

Yet, I hold on to truth, and the principles I adore,

And strive to navigate, this crisis-ridden shore.

  1. The poem is rhythmically explains the situation of a person caught in cross- roads of life unable to decide the path to tread. The paths will lead him to two divergent destinations. One leads to acquiring Punya and the other to Papam. One has to choose one of the paths according to his own conscience. Desires are usually considered to be bad.But in that one has to be careful in choosing the kind of desire he wants to fulfill. While fulfilling one's own desire one should not indulge in something which harms others. If he chooses to fulfill his desires at any cost, eventually he has to pay the price.
Enjoying bodily pleasures, acquiring wealth beyond what one actually needs will not fetch anything in the ultimate analysis.
One has to apply one's mind logically. He should not allow himself to swayed by the apparent advantages.Life will become conundrum of problems unless sufficient care is taken at all times.
Your poem reflects the problems of all and thus has a universal applicability.Mendicants, and the people who renounce the world may be exceptions.
