Aging

Someone older than me asked yesterday, "Are you older or am I older?" I replied, "What difference does it make? Think that I am older than you. After a certain age, age no longer matters."

Since childhood, I've observed that even a one or two year age difference can be a concern for some, often leading them to be dishonest about their age.

Aging is not saging, nor lazing, but blazing.

Lying about my age won't stop me from aging, nor will it stop me from dying.

  1. This is a common question that is frequently encountered by many in different situations in a life time.As you said when we have become elderly,it is hardly important whether some one is younger or older than us.What is the point in a situation whether some one is 83 or 85.Both are octogenarian.Longevity does not follow rules of age. This 83 year old person should not come to a conclusion directly that he is going to die in the next 2 years merely because the person of 85 years died the other day.
We should be happy living happily even now

  2. Contd.....
One should not be unduly inquisitive about some one else's age.Quality of life is important ,given the long life span. When these 83 and 85 years olds become equally immobile for some reasons, really it is immaterial when some one is younger or older than him.So also the case of healthy people of ripe age.It is immature to ask questions of this type even by our contemporaries.
Your last two sentences are very important to note.
    Thank you.
